Shreveport Bossier Weekend Events — June 29 – July 1

Whatever you plan on getting in to this weekend, be sure to stay cool and hydrated. The temperature will be over 100 degrees all weekend in Kiss Country. Get out early tomorrow morning and take the kids fishing or support a new local girls group by enjoying pancakes! Then later on you can enjoy the air conditioning in the movie theater.

Each year Oil City hosts “Get Hooked on Fishing Day” at Earl G. Williamson Park on the last Saturday of June. This is a FREE event where children will learn the fun of fishing. There will be snacks and prizes. Get there around 7am to get the kids registered. Plug this into your GPS: 11425 LA HWY 1, Oil City, Louisiana 71061. Earl G. Williamson Park is a 40-acre park provides a public boat ramp, a 450-foot fishing pier, paved parking areas, restrooms with showers, RV camper hook-ups, areas for tent camping, extensive picnic facilities, two playgrounds, volleyball nets, a lighted ball field, lighted tennis courts and a swimming area.
