For over 30 years, Shreveport Fire Captain Ralph Parker has been serving our community. Now it's time for us to help him and his family.

The Shreveport Fire Department  invites Shreveport-Bossier residents to join them for a fundraising fish fry this Saturday, March 27th. All funds raised at the fish fry will go directly to Captain Parker and his family, as they continue their fight against a foe we all know know so unfortunately well.

A little less than a month ago, Captain Ralph Parker was diagnosed with cancer. Sadly, this diagnosis came very late in the fight that Ralph wasn't aware he was having. He was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. As many of you know, a diagnosis like this is immediately lifechanging and for all involved. When I heard of the situation, like many of you, I felt compelled to do anything and everything I could do for this wonderful man and his family.

Naturally, there's really only one thing in life I can do well, and that's talk. So I wanted to try my best to spread the word and share Captain Parker's story and the details of the fundraiser being held to help him and his family. I'm counting on you to help spread the word as well!

The Shreveport Fire Department will be holding their benefit fish fry this Saturday at Sam's Club on Youree Drive in Shreveport. The fish fry will kick off at 11:00 AM, and they'll serve fish fry plates that include french fries and hushpuppies for just $10.

Let's show Captain Parker how much we care about him and believe in him. He's had our backs in the city of Shreveport for over three decades on the fire department, now let's join him in his fight to beat cancer
