It is a scary time for a lot of parents right now. So many parents are wary of sending their children to school because, well, of germs. Before the pandemic, many parents didn't think twice when their kids came home sick from school. However,  bringing home a sick child is more stressful than ever. Does your child have RSV or COVID? If it is RSV will your child develop pneumonia or bronchiolitis which will make them more susceptible to COVID-19?

It's not just parents with children who are weary, many pregnant women are walking on eggshells. We still don't understand all the side effects or complications that arise when women who are pregnant get COVID-19.

Ochsner Health System has sounded the alarm for pregnant women in Louisiana. According to KTBS 3, Ochsner is seeing a higher number of COVID-19 cases in pregnant women. Of course, the concerning part is that we are seeing this increase in cases right here in Shreveport.

According to KTBS 3, Several of those pregnant women are in critical care and are on ventilators at Ochsner LSU Health. We have all heard that being pregnant poses a risk for more severe complications of COVID, however many of us didn't know it could get this bad.

So far the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM), are recommending that all pregnant women be vaccinated against COVID-19.

It is scary to think how many pregnant women in Shreveport are on ventilators.
