SBC Pepper Fest: Guide to the Ultimate Shreveport Spicy Food Festival
If you know me, you know I absolutely live for spicy food. Honestly, being a Latina, it’s practically in my DNA, so when I heard about this event, I knew it was made specifically for me.
Get your taste buds ready, because the SBC Pepper Fest is officially coming to heat up downtown Shreveport on August 22nd.
Hosted by SBC Pepper Fest and Chang Liu, this epic seven-hour celebration is taking over 211 Market St for a day that promises to be pure fire. "SBC Pepper Fest is the culmination of all things hot and local coming to the Remington Garage this August 22nd! Family friendly fun for everyone!"
Whether you're a casual fan of heat or a total "Hot Headed Pepper Pal" like me, this festival is a dream come true. We're talking a massive gathering of hot sauce makers, growers, and performing artists.
There is so much packed into this day. You can listen to expert panels dish out secrets on growing super-hots and cooking with peppers, or browse spicy-themed artisan goodies ranging from crochet peppers to hot sauce gun holsters. Plus, the Bossier Arts Council is hosting a sizzling, one-day pop-up gallery so you can take home some unique, spicy visual art.
When you get hungry, local food trucks like Mr. Grilled Cheese will be serving up exclusive Pepper Fest specials to light you up, while Streetcar Snoballs will be on standby to cool you down. And yes, the (in)famous Pepper Eating Contest is back at 5:00 PM, and they promise it's even hotter this year.
Mark your calendars: tickets go live June 1st! See you there, pepper pals!
