Junk mail? Who even gets mail anymore? If your physical mailbox is still overloaded with pre-Internet spam, there’s now a digital way to put an end to it.

Seattle-based tech firm Readabl has introduced their new PaperKarma app that aims to let even the laziest people in the world stop getting unwanted catalogs and mailers.

Normally, to unsubscribe to a junk mail list you need to call a 1-800 number, wait on hold for God knows how long to speak to an operator, give them your address and then hope that the underpaid phone jockey in Bangalore gets it right and scrubs your name from the list. With PaperKarma, all you need to do is take a picture. The app recognizes logos, text and other information and automatically contacts the sender to deliver an unsubscribe request.

Readabl is working closely with all of the major mailers to ensure prompt removal, and the app is free, so really it’s win-win for everybody. If only it could work on credit card bills and bar tabs.
