Overnight Accident Leaves Thousands of SWEPCO Customers in Caddo Parish Without Power

An overnight accident has left thousands of SWEPCO customers in Caddo Parish without power this morning. Shreveport police are on the scene of the major accident that happened just after 3am in the 5800 block of Burt Kouns Industrial Loop. Currently 2400 people in Caddo Parish are without power. SWEPCO has crews out working to restore power.

The driver reportedly hit a transition line pole that supports two major circuits that provide power to about 2,500 people. A section of Bert Kouns in that area will be blocked for several hours. If that's part of your morning drive you may want to find another route.
