Louisiana’s 10 Most Miserable Jobs When It’s Cold Outside
The old joke about knowing it's going to be a bad day when you wake up and The Weather Channel is broadcasting from your front lawn, comes to mind during cold fronts like this.

While this weather isn't anything we haven't experienced before in Louisiana, there's something about the latest Polar Vortex that's hit the area that should remind those who work indoors, just how much they should appreciate their work environment.
The National Weather Service has issued both a "Cold Weather Advisory" and a "Freeze Warning" until 9:00 am this morning for all of the Arklatex. Both are pretty ominous considering these dangerous temperatures:
For the Freeze Warning, sub-freezing temperatures resulting in a hard freeze expected.
For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills below 10 degrees expected.
It's at time like this I'm reminded of my appreciation for those who brave these elements to keep the rest of us safe, secure and warm.
There are men and women right now with teeth chattering, frozen fingers and red noses, working for power companies, serving with police and fire protection, not to mention those loading trucks/trains with essential goods and food to get us through all this.
Those thoughts in mind, it occurred to me just how good I've got it with this radio personality thing. We work in the warm and dry studio. There's always hot coffee and the occasional Southern Maid Donuts.
So, just who are the people we need to thank the most during weather crisis like this? I've got a list!
