In lieu of the traditional Mardi Gras activities like parades and grand balls, the Krewe of Centaur offered its members a chance to participate in a socially distanced treasure hunt this year to get into the spirit of the season ahead of what would have been their parade day, this Saturday, February 6, 2021.

The treasure hunt began Sunday, January 31, 2020, and it only took four clues to locate the booty! Congrats to Jimmy and Kathryn Lee who ride the Eldridge Float. They found their prize, a $250 bead room credit, last night along the wall of one of the tunnels at Veterans Park off of Clyde Fant Parkway in Shreveport.

If you missed the clues that went out to Centaur members each day, I've listed them below. While I didn't play this time around, I was sure the treasure was on a local disc golf course! Don't worry, it won't be the first time I was wrong;)

Day 4 Clue
Wednesday, February 3, 2021
Freedom from the chains of your mind will help you find what you seek, with clear paths and the sound of birdies, so to speak.

Day 3 Clue
Tuesday, February 2, 2021
If you want the green, you won't have to go far. Look for a place, not real fancy, just par.

Day 2 Clue
Monday, February 1, 2021
North, South, East or West, which direction is the best? Deciding may be harder than you think, but within the clues are the links.

Day 1 Clue
Sunday, January 31, 2021
To hunt for the treasure be respectful of ALL property, as it is in public in our community. No need for a shovel the treasure is easy to see. Find it and the winner of Bead Room credit you will be.

You had to be a current paid member of Centaur to participate in the treasure hunt, however, you don't have to miss out on the fun! Why not consider joining for the upcoming season? Check out the upcoming events and come meet some new folks!

Saturday, February 13: Centaur at the Mardi Gras themed Bossier Night Market 4-9 pm
Monday, February 15: General Membership Meeting at the Centaur Den

Please remember to bring a mask for all of these events and remember, if you're sick, please stay home! All Hail!
