Jon Pardi tackles some true dramatic acting in his brooding new video for his current single, "She Ain't In It."

Pardi headed to Southern California with director Jim Wright to film the video, which uses moody black-and-white footage to tell the story of a man who is trying to go about his everyday life, but can't get his former flame off his mind, replaying old scenes from their time together over and over in his mind. Pardi digs into some meatier acting than he has attempted in previous clips as we see him doing his work on the farm, all the while pining for the women who left him to head to New York City.

Clint Daniels and Wynn Varble wrote "She Ain't In It," a heartbreak song that suits Pardi's traditional-but-not-throwback style well. The song finds its protagonist ready to start getting back into the swing of things, but still hurting from a breakup that he hasn't gotten over.

These Artists Are Keeping Traditional Country Music Alive

"We could hit that place down by the interstate / Out past the city limits / Hangout all night long / Hear a country song / As long as she ain't in it," Pardi sings in the chorus.

"She Ain't In It" is the fourth single from Pardi's sophomore album, California Sunrise. The album's first two singles, "Head Over Boots" and "Dirt on My Boots," both reached No. 1 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart, and "Heartache on the Dance Floor" peaked inside the Top 5. Pardi is currently on the road as part of Miranda Lambert's Livin' Like Hippies Tour, and he's slated to hit the road with Luke Bryan on Bryan's What Makes You Country Tour, which kicks off May 31.
