Don't blame me! If you see why we're honoring Joey Migues this week and it causes you to evaluate your own life and what you do to give back to this community, don't blame me. Blame Joey! He's set the bar pretty high.

In spite of his own physical challenges, Joey heads to work every day with a "can do" attitude and is constantly looking for ways to serve.

Whether it's at home with his wife and son, or any of the multitude of dogs his family has fostered, Joey is there for those who need him.

Reading his story makes it easy to understand why his wife, Jessica, loves him so much. In fact, it was the nomination letter that Jessica sent us about Joey that alerted us to this amazing guy.

And because of Joey's servant's heart, we celebrate him this week as our latest recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award!

Just read what Jessica had to say about him and you'll see why this selection was so easy.

I want to tell you about my husband, Joey Migues. Joey is not only a husband and father but a 20 year veteran of the US Navy. Joey is 60% disabled by the VA but works so hard to support me and our son, Brandon. I have multiple health issues and have been disabled our entire marriage and our son has autism and ADHD along with some other diagnoses. Joey never waivers in taking care of me and in being the best daddy he can be. Joey works at IBTS and is a Certified Building Inspector. At work he goes above and beyond to help his customers which are the citizens in sometimes small rural communities with emergency inspections to get people’s power back on, help with fixing things at people’s homes that may keep them from passing inspections and so on. He’s been given several raises and bonuses for his “Go Above and Beyond” attitude. Joey also has been instrumental in saving countless dogs from euthanasia as a partner with me in fostering dogs for various rescues for the past 12 years. Together we’ve saved and fostered over 100 dogs. Joey is my partner in everything and deserves recognition for everything he is and for everything he gives 200% to.

Joey Migues, because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Magnolia Pit Barbecue have a $50 Gift Certificate for you to come have dinner on them!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Joey to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
