Patients suffering with kidney issues and forced to endure the countless hours of dialysis, have been blessed with a true angel here on Earth.

That beautiful fiery little angel comes in the form of Jennifer Vicknair! Not only has she actually donated a kidney of her own to help a patient, but her dedication to these patients is unparalleled.

We learned of this God-Send from Mary Ann Banks, who was blessed to have Jennifer come into her life during the trying times of Mary Ann's own father going through dialysis.

One look at the nomination letter we got from Mary Ann made Jennifer Vicknair an easy choice as this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

Jennifer Vicknair was my dad’s hospital social worker before he passed away 5 years ago and we have stayed in touch. She works for a local dialysis clinic now and spends her time helping those with kidney disease. The people on dialysis are very immunocompromised so going to the store during the pandemic was very risky plus many of them have no transportation so going to the store isn’t always an option. She recently reached out to the community for donations so her patients could have food, personal hygiene items and clothing on hand all the time (most of them live on a fixed income). She works long hours at work and home to ensure her patient’s basic needs are met. She challenges her patients to maintain good health, to go to their dialysis appointments and to love themselves. And, her family has grown too. When the biological mother of her son had her parental rights terminated, he asked Jennifer to adopt him so he could have a real mom! Jennifer didn’t think twice about it and his adoption has been finalized! To sum it up, she donated a kidney, adopted her son, volunteers for local animal rescues and works tirelessly for her patients. WOW! When does she sleep? You won’t find someone with a bigger heart and dedication to serving others. She is one of the shining lights in this grim world. A true blessing!

Jennifer Vicknair, thank you for being an inspiration to us all and a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!

And because you've been "Caught in the Act" the gang at Silver Star have a $100 Gift Certificate for you to come have dinner on them!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Jennifer to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
