Slow Down! Section Of I-20 In Bossier Closed Again Today
Evidently, someone at the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has been listening to Kiss Country. We've had several callers over the past few months complaining about I-20 at Old Minden Road in Bossier City.
If you traveled through that area yesterday, Monday, October 24, you might have noticed the left (inside) lane of I-20 westbound at the LA 72 (Old Minden Road) interchange in Bossier City was closed while crews performed some roadway maintenance.
And barring inclement weather that could halt additional road work, the DOTD will have crews out again today, Tuesday, October 25 and again Wednesday, October 26, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day, performing road maintenance on the right (outside) lane of I-20 westbound at LA 72 (Old Minden Road).
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
Though there has been absolutely no official mention of additional work in the same area on the eastbound side of I-20 from Old Minden Road to Airline Drive, any motorist who travels that area can testify that there aren't many roads in the United States any rougher, so DOTD if you are reading this, please help us avoid additional front end alignment work and resurface that side of the interstate as well.
