Highway 1 in Caddo Parish Shut Down

Caddo deputies are on the scene of an accident that has a stretch of Highway 1 in Caddo Parish shut down. Three 18-wheelers crashed Wednesday morning right around 3:15 on Highway 1 near Tones Bayou just south of the Shreveport city limits. The northbound lane of Hwy 1 South in front of the Relay Station is being diverted to Hwy 175 and then onto I-49.  The lane is expected to be closed for several hours.
The first rig was reportedly carrying an oil and sand mix and collided with a tanker truck carrying hydrosol fuel. The tank was punctured and all of the liquid was released onto the roadway. A third rig was bumped during the initial accident.  More than 6,000 gallons of hydrosol spilled onto the roadway. Deputies say the northbound lane of Highway 1 is closed in Caddo Parish as they work to clear the scene.
