Every now and then we're sent a story that just doesn't quite add up.  And that was the case this morning with a message we received from Demori Gonzalez on our Facebook page.

My sister is Devin Gonzalez she is a junior at Elysian Fields High School. She is a straight A honor roll student, participates in volleyball, FFA, OAP, && starting varsity catcher. She is very involved && is NOT a trouble student! However, the high school is kicking her out of school because of the color of her hair! She had a pretty auburn red solid color hair && the principap today her Wednesday morning it was not natural so she could not go to class, & sent her home. Devin out of respect came home that night and dyed her hair with a solid brown color to try and tone her hair down but since she has had the auburn red color in her hair almost a year now it had little effect! So this morning when she went bsck to school hoping to return to class she was informed that her hair was still not natural that she could stay today but needed to dye it completely brown and is not to come back to school until it is brown. I want this story out there because she is the only student being discriminated against for her not having her natural hair color. I normally do not get problems involved on a social status but I feel that things will not change nor get better unless her story is out in the open and more of the community is aware of the troubles being cause over nonsense. The softball season has started for Elysian Fields and she worries missing so much class and not being abke to return will harm her chances of starting this year. The first photo is a photo of Devin on Monday a few days before the initial complaint began. We feel her hair is not wild or distracting, that it is in fact classroom suitable however, fighting the principals opinion as the rules makes this difficult. Please help share her story! Thank you!
Granted, rules are rules and since her hair has been dyed, it's not "HER" natural color, but it appears as though it is a "Natural" color.  What are your thoughts?
