Fire Destroys Another Vacant Home In Shreveport
Shreveport Fire Department fire crews were dispatched at 2:02AM Monday (4.24.23) morning to the 3000 block of Drexel Street to a report of two single-story wood framed residences on fire.
The first arriving SFD fire unit on scene reported the first structure to be fully involved with fire and the second adjacent structure to have flames and smoke coming from the rear. Firefighters were able to take defense attack to protect surrounding homes and extinguish the fire of the first residence and entered the front door of the adjacent residence, where they located and extinguished the fire in the rear.
It took the efforts of 18 firefighters—6 fire units, only 20 minutes to bring this blaze under control. Both structures were vacant. This fire cause is still under investigation.
