If you travel I-220 in North Caddo parish very often, you'll need to make some alternative plans for this weekend as the portion of I-220 around the construction of the I-49 exchange will be closed.

Here's what the Louisiana Department of Transportation has to say:

The Louisiana Dept. of Transportation & Development (DOTD) announces a partial closure of I-220 in Caddo Parish for pavement reconstruction.

The eastbound lanes will be removed and replaced.

From Friday, Feb. 3rd, 2017 at 8PM to Monday, Feb. 6th, 2017 at 5AM, I-220 will be closed from LA 1 (North Market St.) to LA 173 (Shreveport-Blanchard Hwy). Eastbound traffic will be re-routed at Exit 5 onto LA 173 (Shreveport-Blanchard Hwy). Westbound traffic will be re-routed at Exit 7B onto LA 1 (North Market St).

Alternate Routes: Eastbound – LA 173 to N. Hearne Ave. to N. Market St. back to I-220

Westbound – N. Market St. to Martin Luther King Dr. to LA 173 back to I-220

DOTD reminds motorists that it is unsafe and unlawful to drive onto a closed road past a “road closed” barricade at any time for any reason.
