I would be remiss if I didn't start this without stating that the nomination letter we received about Donna Moore was probably the finest example of writing we've received in years.

Siam Sok wrote from her heart, and what an incredible find she's made with her first friend ever in the state of Louisiana, as Donna Moore came into her life.

Just take a gander at this letter and you'll see just how easy it was to name Donna Moore as this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

We are a military family, moved to Louisiana last September from Pennsylvania. We knew no one! I was pregnant. Our daughter, savanna, was born early at 32 weeks gestation. Donna was her nurse. During our stay in the NICU, with our daughter, Donna always sang songs, tended to our baby and other babies with such love and diligence. She was so loving and motherly. We made an instant connection. Well a little bit later we found our daughter to have hearing loss, and had a growth on her spine. The growth was growing as weeks passed. We got to bring our baby home Valentine’s Day of this year. As time passed she still failed her hearing tests and the growth was still there. We were going to church with Donna as well, July 14th we had the pastors pray over Savanna. We took her for another hearing test and an ultrasound and the doctors were so stunned that her growth disappeared! It’ s noted in her medical record as unremarkable!
You see, I come from a broken family. What drew me to Donna was that she loved us in a way that God loves us. We were strangers and she took my family under her wing! We never went to church, let alone believe in God as we do now. Donna has the heart I hope to one day have. She’s a woman of God and was the first friend we made in this state. She always always puts herself last to everyone! She takes care of her grand daughter who has diabetes, she takes care of her mother, and she takes care of her own home and sometimes even mine when I just can’t! She’s the strength that every mother should be! Donna (aka Honey) is the woman God has sent to this earth to show the goodness of HIS creation! This woman works, and takes care of everyone! She is the mother I’ve never had and always wanted. There’s not enough time in the day to thank her for all the time, love are sacrifices she gives to everyone! She deserves everything good!

Donna Moore, thank you for being an inspiration to us all and a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!

And because you've been "Caught in the Act" the gang at Silver Star have a $100 Gift Certificate for you to come have dinner on them!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Donna to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
