Desiree Buie Is This Week’s Caught in the Act Recipient

It was obvious when we called Desiree Buie this morning that we had awakened her.

But, with all she has on her plate, it's completely understandable why she was trying to catch a little more shut-eye before taking on the world.

In her nomination letter from Wendy McCalister, we learned just how dedicated Dez is to the Woodson family and all of those who've had the pleasure of crossing her path.

Desiree gets it! She's learned that the "good life" is the life of service to others. And it's her service that made her an easy selection as this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award!

Just look at all the ways that Dez is there for others!

Desiree Buie is a special lady that is so deserving of recognition for so many reasons. Despite her personal difficulties or medical issues, she always chooses to put other’s needs before her own. She is one of the most selfless people I have had the privilege of knowing. She is a great friend, a caregiver, a doer of all things (no matter the task), giver of her time, but most of all she offers her whole heart to serve others. Dez came into our family several years ago and instantly became like family. She lives with my 100-year-old Granny. She loves and cares for her like family. She does this out of the kindness of her own heart and expects absolutely nothing in return. She spends her nights working to make ends meet. She comes home to get a few hours of sleep before spending the day running errands for Granny, taking care of her extended family, delivering food to the homeless, as well as many other selfless acts of kindness. Dez has a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Our family is very thankful and appreciative of her and all she does for us. She is definitely heaven sent. We couldn’t imagine doing life without her in our family! We love you Dez and thank you for just being you!
