Now that the water's warmed up, it's time to head for Cross Lake and the 2014 Cross Lake Flotilla this Saturday from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm!

This year's theme is “Love the Lake Life” and the event, now in its 23rd year, will again be headquartered at the Lowe-McFarlane American Legion Post at 5315 South Lakeshore Drive in Shreveport.

Admission is FREE, but if you're planning to have a boat in the flotilla, the Cross Lake Patrol reminds you that you'll need a valid Cross Lake boating sticker affixed to your vessel.

Boaters without this sticker, are asked to arrive at the Shreveport Police Department's Cross Lake Patrol headquarters at 2900 Municipal Pier Road between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. to purchase those stickers for $20 each.

They also want to remind you that Coast Guard approved life jackets are required for each person on your boat.

Officials with the Cross Lake Patrol, Wildlife and Fisheries, and the Caddo Sheriff’s Office will be on-hand enforcing boating laws.
