When Emily Manchester-Sanden wrote to us about her husband, Cory, we were left open-mouthed with one big question.

When does this man sleep?

Not only is he one of America's heroes, serving at Barksdale AFB, but he's a hero in everyday life as well. Constantly dedicating his time and talent to others as he works tirelessly to make this an incredible place to live!

It's his heart and willingness to serve that made him an easy selection as this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

My darling husband, MSgt. Cory Sanden is one of the most generous and kind people I know. He has been volunteering at the nonprofit organization I run and others for years. He's the first to volunteer his time, talent, treasure, and his truck to move furniture, pick up donations, refer people, and ask how he can help. Just today he helped a team of volunteers set up the home of one of our clients, then went on a run to pick up donated items, helped us put away furniture and load items we're bringing to other organizations, and then finally, helped me load up and return the furniture we'd brought to a resource fair downtown. Yesterday he helped my dad, a disabled veteran, mow his lawn and weed-eat the drainage ditch in front of their house. Next week he's driving with my dad to Colorado to help my sister, brother-in-law, and their baby move down here to the SBC. In the past, he's assisted some of our elderly friends with their lawns, picked up donations on our off days from his bowling friends, and offered to get groceries for our neighborhood during snowmageddon because not many had vehicles that could make it up the road to the store. He loves being a helper, as sarcastic and shy as he can be, he loves being a helper in any way he can. It's one of my favorite things about him.

Cory Sanden, because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Magnolia Pit Barbecue have a $50 Gift Certificate for you to come have dinner on them!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Cory to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
