PTSD is a huge concern in our country. Our veteran's take on the mantle of protecting us and see things that can never be forgotten. With that being said, adjusting to 'regular' life can be difficult. Locals, Kevin and Theresa Russell, had a calling to help these veterans through horses, because sometimes 'talk therapy' and medications just aren't enough.

Equine therapy has been shown to be effective in all types of therapy and has been successful in helping veterans when other methods haven't. That's what Warrior Horse is all about. The program pairs veterans with PTSD with retired racehorses in a unique equine therapy program. Frankly, it’s hard to say who benefits more, the vets or the horses! You know I’m the crazy horse lady on the radio, but I’m also the daughter of an Air Force Vietnam Veteran. But projects like this take money, and that's where you come in!

This Friday, November 4, 2016, Warrior Horse will be selling lunch plates complete with burgers, chips and a cookie for $5 each at Origin Bank on East 70th Street in Shreveport from 11am - 2pm.
