Caught in the Act - Sheila Paddy
loading...

Such is the case with Sheila Paddy.

We learned of this incredible woman in her nomination letter from friend and co-worker, Lewynell Provost, and to say we were impressed could be the biggest understatement of the summer.

Remarkable, loving, selfless, caring, committed, relentless, kind; all words that fail to sufficiently describe Sheila, but those are some of the best choices in the English language.

Just read her letter yourself and see how easy it was to name Sheila Paddy as this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

I believe “HERO’S” come in many different shapes and sizes. If you look up the definition of a hero you will find it is a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Sheila Paddy has proven over and over to be this definition of hero and should be noticed for her many outstanding achievements and qualities. She is an employee to be admired for her vivacious work ethic and dedication to the Veterans she has provided care to at the VA Medical Center. I have witnessed Mrs. Paddy speak to Veterans with a clear passion to reach each one with intent to make a difference in their day or to help seek solutions for their individual needs, not realizing that she is helping to build and sustain a culture of safety, trust, and commitment with each Veteran she encounters. In addition to her commitment to our employees and Veterans, Mrs . Paddy’s compassion and dedication extended beyond the walls of the VA Medical Center to the grounds of the hospital. Not long ago, many employees learned of a dog living on the property of Overton Brooks VA. Mrs. Paddy stepped in to assist in the rescue of this dog, as many feared she would be caught by animal control and euthanized within days. Many reached out to ask for assistance from local rescues, but with the help of one determined rescue, King Dog Rescue, she was able to help coordinate the trapping of the dog, which took 2 days. Sheila sat unselfishly and waited by her kennel until the rescue could retrieve her. In addition, Mrs. Paddy was instrumental in finding and coordinating foster care with hope of a future adoption. Today sweet "Zoey" has found her furever home do to the hard work and dedication of these big hearted individuals who just did not give you. Not only is she an outstanding mom, wife and friend, this is just another example of Mrs. Paddy’s compassion for serving others and going above and beyond. Please help me in recognizing Mrs. Paddy.

Sheila Paddy, because you've been 'Caught in the Act', John and the gang at the Magnolia Pit have a $50 gift certificate for you to come enjoy a great meal!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Sheila to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
