Cody Daniels sees things that most of us will never see. The work of a firefighter is nothing short of heroic, however, very few ever see exactly what's going on at the scene of a fire or accident when firefighters are performing these acts of heroism. That was before Cody Daniels came along.

Through his work with Signal 51, friends, family and the general public can see exactly what kind of super heroes these men and women prove themselves to be. And because all this work is completely voluntary, Cody has proven to be a hero himself.

Just take a look at his nomination letter we got from his own Mother, Tammy Daniels, and you'll quickly understand why he was an easy choice for this week's Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

Cody has been volunteering his time supporting the efforts of Signal 51 for Shreveport area since he could drive (volunteering now for 10 yrs). Signal 51, is a non-profit organization made up of volunteers who provide refreshments and food to fire fighters and emergency personnel responding to over 65 emergency calls a year. Cody is always there with a smile, no matter what time of night or day an alarm goes off. He sets up rehab near fire trucks and medic units, providing cold water, Gatorade and on occasion will provide food when needed. His relentless support to our great Firemen and Firewomen in our community is appreciated by all and his Family is so proud of him. Cody also serves as webmaster for the website (Signal51.com) he created and maintains. He utilizes his own camera and drone equipment to film, video and document the extreme conditions of various emergency calls which are posted on website and Signal 51 Group - Facebook page. The rare footage is appreciated by the community, especially, the Families of those firefighters, who rarely get to see what goes on while their loved one is on the job. Cody captures unique memories not seen by many, and never allows a fallen fire fighter to be forgotten with his sincere tributes and memorials created for those Families and viewers. His volunteered time, dedication and support are rarely seen on camera, because Cody is always behind the camera or drone footage of all the posted pictures, video and updates on Facebook and website. He has been nicknamed the "Fire Photographer". Cody deserves to be recognized as Caught In The Act, because at any time, Cody can surely be found Caught In The Act everyday, responding with and supporting our Shreveport Fire Fighters. He can even be caught handling fire equipment and assisting Fire Department with cleanup needs. Thank you Cody for all you do - I 'm very proud to be your Mother!

Cody Daniels, thank you for being one of the "good guys" and being a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!

And because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse and Silver Star Grille have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Cody to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
