Chenoa Hakun has given up so much this year during the COVID pandemic. She daily works with COVID patients and putting her own needs last, she spent two months without a hug, a kiss, or just a simple dinner with her children and husband. In an effort to keep her family and her patients safe, she spent sixty days away from those she loves the most.

Now THAT is dedication. But she's quick to dismiss her efforts and immediately points the finger at the amazing bedside nurses who she feels have been the true heroes of this crazy pandemic.

But, in a letter from her friend, Lacey Ashely, we learned of Chenoa's heroics making her selection as this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award an easy task.

When Covid hit our area in early spring Chenoa had to make the hardest decision to keep her family safe. Chenoa works as a Nurse Practitioner in Shreveport and works the front line with Covid patients daily. She made the decision to send her 5 year old daughter, 2 year old son and husband to go live with other family members to keep them safe. She didn’t get to see her children and husband for almost two months straight. She got to talk to them on the phone and FaceTime. She is the hardest working person I know. Our daughters started daycare and instantly became friends four years ago and I’m so thankful for that because I gained an amazing friend out of the deal. Chenoa is the kindest person who would give you the shirt off of her back. She is a Hero saving peoples lives daily. Everyone is so thankful for you Chenoa and all the hard work you do. You definitely deserve this.

Chenoa Hakun, thank you for being an inspiration to us all and a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!

And because you've been "Caught in the Act" the gang at Silver Star have a $100 Gift Certificate for you to come have dinner on them!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Chenoa to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
