Cassie Fite is Recipient of This Week’s Caught in the Act Award

When we called her, Cassie Fite still hadn't had her coffee. Well, she really doesn't drink coffee, but she still hadn't had even the first glass of sweet tea, but she answered the phone anyway.

See, that's the type of person that Cassie is. She didn't recognize this strange phone number. It would have been really easy to not answer and let it go to voice mail, but the kindness in Cassie's heart couldn't risk the fact that someone might need her and she didn't answer the phone.

And what a joy it was to spend time with her as we let her know that she is this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award! We learned about her generosity and giving spirit from her friend Jennifer Bolden. When Jennifer submitted Cassie's nomination letter, she had to know that Cassie would be selected. Just look at the great things Cassie is doing here in our community!

I would like to nominate my friend, Cassie, for the “Caught in the Act” award! Cassie is one of the most generous people I have ever met with a heart the size of her home state of Texas. She is a wife, mother of three, special needs teacher, and part of the Pay It Forward Network. If those things didn’t keep her busy enough she is always the first to volunteer her time and efforts to whomever needs it, whether it be helping those who are in a tough spot get back on their feet, organizing something special for sick children, organize school activities, or just simply helping shuttle kids around. I would love to tell you all the wonderful ways she gives back but most the things she does she does without anyone ever knowing it was her! Cassie is the true definition of generous! She and her husband also instill these values in their children! Cassie always sees the good in others and makes anyone she’s around strive to be a better person!

Cassie Fite, thank you for being an inspiration to us all and a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!
