Benton Water Boil Advisory in Effect NOW

Benton Water System is experiencing problems with the supply.

• Improvements to the water system will cause a temporary loss of pressure, Thursday.
• Due to an anticipated loss in pressure, the water quality is questionable
• As a precaution, the Water System is issuing a boil advisory  August 1, for the entire Benton Water System, both inside and outside town limits.

The advisory is to remain in effect until rescinded by the Water System.

Officials recommend that consumers disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, or using it for food preparation or rinsing of foods by the following means:

Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil.
