American Idol Contestant Scott McCreery progressed through this weeks group auditions by the skin of his teeth. Until this week we only heard this Josh Turner sound alike sing just that. . Josh Turner songs. During this weeks group auditions Scotty bumbled through the lyrics of  "I hope you dance". He stated that he only progressed because the judges like his deep voice.

Scott has been performing on school buses and at festivals for years, claiming that he has been waiting since American Idol season one for his chance to audition.

Next weeks theme may be a tough hurdle for this country boy. Hopefully Scott will be able to put his Josh Turner-like twang twist to a Beetle's tune.
