Something Good Will Come of Colorado Shooting

This morning 12 different distraught Colorado families are preparing for funerals. Funerals for loved ones who’s lives were stopped in their prime by an idiot with a gun. Why? Self-proclaimed human nature and psychiatric experts and scores of writers/speakers will waste hundreds of thousands of man hours in the next several months to give you “their” thoughts on “why.” Most likely, 99 percent of them will be wrong. And honestly, does it matter?  All that really matters is that the city of Aurora, Colorado has been thrust into the nation’s spot light because a madman had a bad day. We refuse to give this coward any stage for celebrity. We refuse to ever speak his name. We’re not going to waste our time or yours attempting to find the reasons why this shooter could lash out and why at a Batman movie, or why his neighbors didn’t know who he was.

What we are looking for is the hard-to-find silver lining of this extremely dark cloud. There’s no political agenda here in regards to gun control or capital punishment. None of the rhetoric in regards to “what our thoughts are for his punishment.” You can get those sentiments in literally thousands of other places. See, we have faith. Faith that something GOOD will come of this.

Much like the unparalleled Patriotism our country saw after the cowardly attack on 9/11, something good WILL come. What will it be? A return to a society where Americans truly knew their neighbors. Saturday night block parties and ice cream socials? A return to a system of core value where Mothers and Fathers were responsible for the rearing of their children and deemed it necessary to instill a sense of right and wrong in their kids instead of allowing them to be raised by the SciFi  Network or the latest MTV fad?

Something GOOD will come. We just wonder what it will be so we can recognize it when it happens.  This isn’t the forum for blame casting or political agenda. There’s enough of that already being served up by the mindless media of this country. But, if you too believe something good will come and you care to take a guess as to what it will be, here’s the spot for that discussion to begin.
