As I drove down Dogwood Trail on my way home yesterday afternoon, the decorations in the front yard of an obvious military home nearly brought tears to my eyes.  The sign alone told the story.  Daddy is coming home and just in time for Father's Day.  My  imagination ran ahead of me at 100 miles per hour.  I imagined that Daddy has been in the middle east for months.  He'd missed report cards, bad dreams, dance recitals, Sunday school lessons, and so many other things.  Catching fire flies in the front yard on summer evenings, weekend camping trips and visits from the tooth fairy.  Daddy had been off protecting all of us. Preserving our way of life.  The things we take for granted.  All these kids wanted was to have Daddy home for Father's Day, and all he wanted was to fulfill their wishes.  And just as in all wonderful fairy tales, the little girls who made this sign for Daddy, got their wish.  Daddy made it home.  Thank you  Master Sergeant Jeffrey Jones.  Thank you for sharing your Father's Day gift with all of us and for making this a great place to live.
