Louisiana Dubbed ‘Movie Capital of the World’

Hollywood South gets major props when it comes to movie making!

Who says the movie scene is slowing down here in the Bayou State? Not CBS news. A recent report by the news organization calls Louisiana the 'Movie Capital of the World.' Not bad for the state that was recently rated by Yahoo Travel as being the worst when it comes to the murder rate.

But we figure if actor Gerard Butler loves us, then we must be ok.  Butler has shot numerous films here and is just one of the many actors that's helped put the Bayou State on the map when it comes to making movies.

And word has it, 2015 looks to be bigger and better than ever for the movie industry here!
