James McDowell knows what it means to "put in a hard day's work." Thankfully, he's not afraid to do what he does for so many, and with a smile on his face.

We learned about James when we got his nomination letter from his wife Kerstin. In that letter, she explains that the needs of family, friends, work, even perfect strangers, are much more of a priority to James than anything he might want for himself.

James told us, "That's just what I do." And it's because of James' commitment to others and his kind heart, that this week we are tickled to honor him with the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award!

Just look at his nomination letter we got from Kerstin.

I would like to tell you about my husband James McDowell. He is the Maintenance Supervisor at a local hospital and he doesn't get the appreciation that he deserves. In fact, none of the Maintenance guys get any recognition. There are National Nurses week and Phlebotomy week and all that. I wish there was some way to have a National Maintenance workers week. But anyways, during the recent storm my husband got a call from the hospital that the storm had done some damage to part of the roof and other issues were going on. He went in and even dodged a tree coming down to get there. He stayed at the hospital for more than 24 hours straight with maybe 2 or 3 hours sleep during the time to make sure that everything gets back to working order and safely. He is always willing to give a helping hand to a neighbor or if someone needs help on the side of the road. We're also raising a grandchild and we have my mother-in-law who has Alzheimer's living with us. He never takes any time off. I recently wanted to take him out for a nice dinner, but he was called in. That's just the way it works sometimes. So thank you to my hubby. I love you so very much.

James McDowell, because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner on them!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to James to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
