The National Weather Service also warns that today's storms are just the start of this potential damaging weather. They are forecasting multiple rounds of heavy rainfall from this afternoon through at least Wednesday morning.

With widespread rainfall totals of 3 to 6 inches expected, the Arklatex area could also see scattered pockets of 6 to 8 inches. Isolated higher amounts are possible.

This will likely result in a widespread threat for flooding. Therefore, a Flood Watch has been issued for the entire Arklatex area from Monday afternoon through Wednesday morning.

Low lying and flood prone areas will be of the greatest flood concern with additional rises on all area waterways very probable as well.
