Bryan Gordon is a man’s man. He’s a soldier in the United States Army and yet, speaking of his daughter, Lexi, can knock him to his knees.  Lexi, now 26 months old, was born with the extremely rare, Tay-Sachs disease.

Because of the rarity of the disease, very little is known about it.  Bryan and his wife are doing everything in their power to educate the world of Tay-Sachs and this Saturday, July 13, they’re holding the “Lexi For Life 5K Race” to raise Tay-Sachs awareness and much needed research dollars.

Bryan spoke with Gary and Julie of Kiss Country’s morning show about Lexi, the disease, and the race.  Bryan says "there's no known cure for Tay-Sachs now" and "because it effects only 12 to 16 babies each year, we're just trying to do our small part to raise awareness and try and find a cure, even though it might not be in time for our baby."
