Zac Burson is Newest Recipient of Caught in the Act Award [VIDEO]
One word comes to mind when describing Zac Burson - ABSOFREAKINCREDIBLE! This man is nothing short of miraculous. His dedication to our community is unparalleled and his love for his fellow man, especially kids, is without question.
Just look at his nomination letter we received from his friend, Sabrina Langley. It'll show you just how easy it was to name Zac this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.
Where do I begin? When I think about the name Zac Burson, I think about someone whose life reflects the true meaning of Christmas year round. He carries the spirit of giving with him wherever he goes and represents the best of who we are as a human race. I have known Zac for over 10 years. During that time, his life has without a doubt impacted thousands of families. As a man of God, Zac has the heart of a true servant and it reflects in his life every single day. His work in education is his ministry, his calling. Zac genuinely LOVES all people and his heart is for them. Not once have I heard him say the word "no" or that something was impossible. Zac has given faith to families from Bossier City to Unice, especially when they had no where else to turn. Without recognition or ever letting anyone know, I have witnessed Zac purchase school and work uniforms, fill refrigerators, and pay for transportation for families to get to ensure they do not miss work or important appointments. I cannot even begin to list all of the ways Zac has helped his community throughout his life.
Once he becomes part of your life, you have found a loyal friend forever. All of our students in Bossier Parish, their families, his co-workers, the community leaders, and stakeholders know they can count on him for anything at anytime. His guidance, love, and support does not end when he clocks out at the end of the day. Actually, he never clocks out! When Zac leaves work, he typically goes to after-school programs he has created for at-risk youth or does home visits just to check on students. No matter what time it is or where he is at, when his cell phone rings, Zac will answer and help in any way possible. His weekends are filled with events like the Red River Cleanup, delivering meals to the elderly, and organizing activities for students to become productive in the community. Everything Zac does gives hope, purpose, and empowerment to others. Not only does he provide for families in the community, he has organized multiple committees such as A Cross Faith. Without a doubt, Zac Burson is the glue that holds our community together. While you may have never heard of him, I am truly blessed to work with him, to learn from him, and to call him friend.
Zac Burson, thank you for being one of the "good guys" and being a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!
And because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner!
Take a listen to the phone call we made to Zac to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
