Yankees VS. Crawfish
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is urging their residents to not eat the crawfish or as they call them crayfish that are invading their area. The city and location where the crawfish are being found, is being called ground zero, because the MDNR doesn't want residents trapping the crawfish for consumption. According to the Michigan DNR "Red swamp crayfish compete aggressively with native crayfish species for food and habitat." If a Michigan resident finds a crayfish (We all know it's being mispronounced on purpose) "If possible, please take one or more photos of the invasive species you are reporting. Also make note of the location, date and time of the observation. This will aid in verification of your report. You may be asked to provide your name and contact information if follow-up is needed." then the DNR's Fisheries Division takes over.
Do these Yankees not realize that the Lord is good all the time? Here they are with one of the most beautiful gifts God has given to the South and their solution is to freeze the crawfish to test them? All the folks in Michigan need to do is order some Cajun seasoning, pick up some corn, a sack of potatoes, and call their Momma, the cousins, and the rest of the neighborhood and have a Crawfish Boil! I was watching some reports and they called crawfish, crayfish (they're CRAYzy), illegal, and a threat. I should be offended at what these reporters are calling God's gift to the Southern folk. If the Michigan Department of Natural Resources really needs help with the crawfish "invasion" they can have an all expenses paid trip given to a big Louisiana family and a Louisiana style Crawfish boil will solve the issue. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
