In an effort to help local residents protect their property from the impending flooding, officials are making sandbags available in several Ark-La-Tex communities.  With approximately 20 million people in the immediate area at risk for flooding - you can't be too prepared.

According to the Ark-La-Tex Homepage, there are 5 locations in Bossier: The Bossier Parish Police Jury maintenance facility at 10 Mayfield St. in Benton from 7:30 in the morning till 3:30 in the afternoon.  You can also pick them up at their 4 satellite locations: South Bossier Fire District 2, Haughton Fire District 1, Town of Plain Dealing, and Town of Haughton.

In Shreveport, you can pick up sandbags at the City of Shreveport Streets and Drainage / Public Works Department on Mansfield Road or the Caddo Parish Fleet Services Department on Monty Street.

In Natchitoches, sandbags will be available at the Public Works Building on Rapides Drive

In Marshall, Texas - you can pick them up at the Marshall Convenience Station on Notch Road between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
