It's crawfish season here in Kiss Country!  While there's no "true" season, mudbugs are usually most plentiful from mid-November through mid-August with most of the best bugs coming from February through May.

With most of us having spent the last several months longing for the return of those big red spicy crustaceans our tastebuds are primed for a tray or two and here are some of the best places around to satifsfy that craving.

A tradition that started with crawfish at their original location at 9176 Mansfield Road back in 1994 now brings three locations for this restaurant, including 1203 Shreveport-Barksdale Highway and 4726 East Texas in Bossier.  Delicacies include fried catfish, barbeque, and of course boiled crawfish in season.

Though Crawfish Hole #2 actually has a Minden address, it's located on Hwy 371 just off I-20 in Dixie Inn and has some of the best crawfish around.  In fact, a reviewer recently wrote " I had some good crawfish over the past month, but the mudbugs at Crawfish Hole # Two were by far the best.  They were huge, perfectly seasoned (you know they're perfect when your lips go numb), and out of the 12 pounds that me and my travelling partners ate, not one of them was dead before it hit the pot."

Copeland's is conveniently located at 1665 E Bert Kouns Industrial Loop in Shreveport.  Since 1983, Copeland's has offered the finest in culinary cuisines as expected from New Orleans Traditions. From the Creole favorites that embody the heart and soul of Southern Louisiana to flavorful takes on seafood, pasta, salads, steaks and desserts, they offer something for everyone.

Located at 4100 Barksdale Boulevard, Bossier City, Gumbo to Geaux is a cajun and creole restaurant bringing you the taste of Louisiana cuisine

Crawfish Palace offers a variety of Cajun, Seafood, Creole, and Southern Cuisine. Located at 1865 U.S. 80 in Haughton

For those who might want to either pick up crawfish to boil themselves or bring home enough already boiled for the neighborhood to watch the big game, Shaver's can do it all.  Located at 270 Ockley Drive at the corner of Youree Drive in Shreveport.

And if there are any other great places you've found some awesome bugs, feel free to comment below and let us know about them and why they're so great.
