Storm chasers are a different breed aren't they?  But because of them, I've seen some incredible photos of some pretty nasty weather events.

They've given us footage of tornadoes over Cypress Lake, pictures of rain clouds hovering over Red River, even some awesome shots of hail as big as tennis balls near Blanchard, but each time I see one of these videos or photos, I'm amazed that someone was crazy enough to be out in weather like that just in hopes of capturing it on film.

Well, this past Monday, one of these thrill seekers almost lost his life on his quest for the perfect video. This guy in Arvada, Colorado, near Denver, was almost struck by lightning while he was outside trying to film a storm.

In this video, there's a huge flash. Then you hear him groan after it knocks him over. Apparently it didn't actually hit him. However, we're told that he was close enough that the violent blast caused him to start convulsing for some reason. And he says he still has ringing in his ears.

And of course, now he has to wear that "Stupid" sign. Wow.
