Freeze Warning Issued For Most Of Arklatex Monday Night
Mother Nature hasn't run out of tricks for us yet and she's planning to play another of her cards tonight.
According to a severe weather statement issued by the National Weather Service, a Freeze Warning has been issued for portions of Northwest and North Central Louisiana and Northeast Texas from midnight tonight (Monday, March 18) until 9:00 am on Tuesday, March 19.
The forecasters at the National Weather Service say we should expect sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 degrees.
Experts remind that the frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
These same experts urge residents of the forecasted area to take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
It would appear that once this cold snap has passed through the area, a warming trend will commence Tuesday and continue through Wednesday, before showers and a few thunderstorms increase across the region Thursday ahead of an upper level disturbance that will move through the area.
However, the threat for severe thunderstorm development Thursday is low. Warmer and drier conditions will return Friday through next weekend.
