Where Are The Best Beach Trips From Shreveport?

This warm weather has me itching for a trip to the beach! Last year my girlfriends and I made a last minute October beach trip to Ft. Morgan, Alabama. Our condo was on a peninsula with Gulf views to one side and bay views on the other, it was a quiet, beautiful beach. Where, in your opinion, are the best beaches?

This year, we are planning on spending the Fourth of July weekend in Destin, FL for the first time ever. I am worried that I may have traded my serene Ft. Morgan experience for a little Independence Day chaos.
