On occasion I think it's necessary to just stop whatever you are doing and remind yourself what all you have to be thankful for. The home you complain about is a palace to the homeless. The job you hate is a dream for the unemployed. And so it goes.

One of the things we must remind ourselves to be thankful for, each and every day, are the school systems here in Northwest Louisiana, where real value is placed on patriotism and we enjoy that here every single day. Students are taught to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and informed on exactly what it means. Just makes us all feel more pride as real Americans.

That's why it's so important to Kiss Country to feature these classes as they lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance. So, we all get to bask in their Patriotic Light. And to be reminded of what we have to be thankful for.

Let me introduce you to our Kiss Class of the Day! They are Mrs. Dickey's 2nd grade class at Haughton Elementary!

I'm sure they really don't care much about wearing masks all day at school, but it hasn't diminished their patriotic spirit even a little.

Obviously, they are just following the mood and spirit of their leaders! And I can't thank the teachers of Kiss Country enough. Since we are having to play by new rules this year amidst the COVID restrictions, and I'm not personally going to our schools like we've done in the past, we have had to rely on our local teachers to bring us our daily "Kiss Class of the Day" featuring a local elementary class as they recite the Pledge of Allegiance for us.

And our teachers have been only too happy and willing to accommodate. Videos, like this one, of local classes. are arriving every day.

We are hoping (and so are the kids) that you'll take a second to watch them as they lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance!

Make sure you join us each morning at 6:45 for a new Kiss Class of the Day to be featured with the Pledge!
