Since yesterday an estimated 28 tornadoes have pummeled Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois and Missouri.

An estimated 300 homes were damaged or destroyed across Oklahoma alone, Red Cross spokesman Ken Garcia said. At least 200 of those homes are in Pottawatomie County.

The total number of injuries is unknown but the tornadoes have claimed at least one life.  A 79-year-old man was found dead inside his mobile home in Shawnee, OK, according to the Associated Press.

And it looks like the bad weather isn't over yet.  The forecast for today is calling for baseball-sized hail, wind gusts, possible flooding and more tornadoes for the central Plains and Midwest through the afternoon and evening.
