It is the bane of my existence. When it's coming closer, I get sweaty palms and my stomach turns a flip, especially during any sort of rush hour. It is a place where, on a stretch of roadway less than two miles long, people seem to lose their ability to drive. Worse yet, they seem to fail to recognize there are other cars all around them full of people who have also lost their ever-loving mind.

I'm speaking of I-20 eastbound from the entrance to I-49 all the way to the off ramp at Traffic St. If you have ever driven that way during afternoon rush hour, you know that you are taking your life into your own hands at the Spring/Market St. exit. Why is that people completely forget how lanes work? I'm assuming these people are all licenced drivers who had to pass at least one test to operate a motor vehicle. You're suppose to know how lanes work, or how to merge, or what flipping exit you're trying to use...ANYTHING!!

I'm normally a pretty mellow guy. But that piece of highway makes me say very not Christian things using inappropriate sign language. Here are some tips for everyone who might become mentally deficient at that place on I20:

1: Try to move into your proper lane in a smooth transition, not riding the line half in and half out with some ambiguous turn signal.
2: Don't ever stop...like...ever.
3: Perhaps find another way to your destination so you can let those, like me, with functioning brains to carry on with their life.
4: DON'T EVER STOP ON THE INTERSTATE... I NEED THE SPACE IN FRONT OF YOU AND YOU ARE IN MY WAY LOOKING FOR 12 INCHES TO OPEN UP SO YOU CAN MERGE!!!
5: Learn how buses work.

I'll be praying for us all.
