Talk Like A Pirate Day [VIDEO]

My former boss, friend and co-worker absolutely loves Talk Like A Pirate Day. So much so, that a few years ago he spent the entire "holiday" speaking--yes, like a pirate. I'm not sure he broke character even once. I don't do characters or accents well, except for my native tongue--redneck. Maybe my inability to engage in Talk Like A Pirate Day without sounding like a drunken redneck is the reason it is not one of my favorite days.

When you work in a radio station, everyone seems to LOVE Talk Like A Pirate Day. I seem to be the only one sulking around wishing I could truly sound like a "scurvy wench" or a "sea dog".  I did however, enter my name into the Pirate Name Generator and found out that even it hates me. The Pirate Name Generator must have known that I am no good at talking like a Pirate when it dubbed me "Bacon Fat Tracy Turner The Nasty". Really?!

After I received my horrendous pirate name, I tested the system with Gary's name. Of course, he received a cool pirate name: "Swashbucklin' Gary McCoy the Class Skipper". I give up.
