The 3rd annual 'Battle of the Badges' softball tournament, that benefits the local Minden St. Jude Children's Hospital Auction , will be held at the Minden Recreation Complex tonight at 6:30 pm.

You don't have to look far to find someone here in Northwest Louisiana who has benefited from St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.  The incredible things they've done for children and cancer research and to provide their services at no cost to parents is nothing short of miraculous.  However, there are costs, and here's a chance for local anglers to help in that cause.

Caroline Crank is celebrating her 13th birthday and instead of having a huge party and getting gifts from family and friends she is having a 5K Run/ walk for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The run/ walk is scheduled for Sunday April 27th at 4pm at the Stoner Boat Launch off Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway.

Cancer entered the lives of Neil and Janice Jones of Hooks, Texas in 2007 when Janice was diagnosed with colon cancer. Together Neil and Janice endured the pain and hardship that cancer brings and neither could imagine what that pain might be like from the parents of a sick child.

The second annual ESA St Jude Children’s Research Hospital Bunco fundraiser is taking place Monday April 14th at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bossier City. Your $45 ticket includes heavy hors d’oeuvres as well as a free door prize and a raffle ticket. You could possibly win up to $700 as well.

Most of you know, my future stepdaughter is a patient at St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital. She has a cancerous brain tumor and has survived over 7 years of cancer treatments, the most recent, ending early because of side effects. She, her sister and grandparents are on the road to Memphis this weekend to find out if her tumor is still stable. Hug...
