A video recently posted by the Texas Department of Public Safety appears to show a suspect attempt to flirt with a Trooper during a traffic stop. This wasn't an ordinary stop, as the Troopers suspected a very serious crime was unfolding.

This incident took place in Jim Hogg County, when a vehicle containing multiple female occupants was stopped by Trooper. The female driver was the first shown in the video that the department posted, while two other passengers are shown later in the video. During the stop, the video appears to show the drive attempting to flirt with the Trooper in an effort to avoid being arrested. You can see the video here.

If you don't want to watch the video, the flirtatious interaction comes as the Trooper is questioning the authenticity of the licenses she provided. While they're interacting, the woman begins to giggle. The interaction then goes like this:

Suspect - "I'm looking at your eyes"

Trooper - "Why?"

Suspect - "Because you're pretty handsome"

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, here's what they suspect was taking place, and why the arrests were made:

"A Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper stopped a gold Chevrolet Malibu on FM-1017. During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered that the driver, from Edinburg, was smuggling two female illegal immigrants from El Salvador. The driver stated she picked up the females from a stash house in Mission and would attempt to drive through the Falfurrias Border Patrol Checkpoint. Both illegal immigrants had fraudulent Texas Driver Licenses. The driver was arrested for human smuggling and the illegal immigrants were referred to US Border Patrol."

The flirtatious suspect has been identified as Lidia Elizabeth Badillo, a Mexican-national living in Edinburg, Texas. Badillo faces two counts of Smuggling of People.
