DOTD Announces Emergency Closure of LA 527 Bridge in South Bossier
Drivers in south Bossier Parish have been hit with an unexpected detour that will likely last most of this weekend.

Due to the discovery of piling damage, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has had to issue notice of the emergency closing of the LA 527 bridge over Flat River in south Bossier Parish.
The LA 527 Bridge Is Just Off LA 71 In The Taylortown Community

For those unfamiliar with this area, this moderately traveled bridge on LA 527 is immediately east of US 71 in the Taylortown area.
Crews from DOTD are working feverishly to complete the emergency piling repair and are expected to continue working through this Sunday evening, September 13.
Of course, work of this nature is done "Weather Permitting" so any inclement weather could delay, extend, or alter in other ways the scheduled work days.
DOTD Will Issue Notification When Work Is Completed And LA 527 Has Reopened
DOTD has stated they will issue notification when repairs are complete and the bridge has been reopened.
Detour signage is in place as this is a total bridge closure and all vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
