State Fair Boat Show Bass Tournament Slated for This Saturday
Only in Louisiana can we have near 70 degree weather on Thursday and Friday, thunderstorms Friday night and a low in the 20's by Sunday, but that's exactly what we're looking at for this weekend and the incoming front Saturday night could really have the fish turned on just in time for the 2019 SFL Boat, Sport and RV Show Bass Tournament!
This is the one most everyone has been waiting all winter for! It's the unofficial kick off to this year's tournament bass fishing for the entire Arklatex! Two man teams of anglers have their choice of 10 different area lakes on which to fish. Caddo Lake, Cross Lake, Lake Bistineau, Grand Bayou (Coushatta), Lake O’ The Pines, Brandy Branch, Red River, Black Lake (Campti), Black Bayou (Hosston), or Toledo Bend.
Entry fee is $200 per team and at least one member of each team MUST attend the pre-tournament rules meeting at the Cattleman's Building near Hirsch Coliseum this Friday at 6:31 pm.

Last year's winners were Jeff Pate and Eddie Shaw and they reportedly caught their 2 fish weighing just under 13 pounds from Black Lake Campti, but lots are predicting the upcoming front could make it tough to beat Caddo Lake in this year's event. Weigh-in on stage at Fair Grounds in front of the Hirsch Coliseum.
If you'd like to just watch the weigh in, you should make plans to be in front of Hirsch Coliseum at the State Fair of Louisiana Boat, Sport and RV Show from 3:00 pm until around 4:30 pm this Saturday.
We caught up with tournament director, Mike Echols, this morning and he answered all the questions we thought might come up.
