The National Weather Service in Shreveport is warning residents of the Shreveport area to prepare for the possibility of some really nasty weather that could hit on Monday.

Flood Warning Continues For Bayou Dorcheat at Lake Bistineau
Though the expectation for rainfall totals to be less than two inches over the course of today for most areas of the Arklatex, the National Weather Service has announced that the Flood Warning continues for Bayou Dorcheat at Lake Bistineau affecting Webster, Bienville, Red River and Bossier Parishes.
Minor flooding is forecast for the area including Springhill, Dixie Inn and Lake Bistineau and those in the forecast area are reminded not to drive through flooded areas.
Mild And Dry For The Weekend But Monday Could See Severe Weather
Milder and drier conditions will then return for the upcoming weekend, but this will be short lived as showers and thunderstorms again develop and possibly spread into Southeast Oklahoma, portions of Southwest Arkansas and East Texas late Sunday night, before shifting through the remainder of the region Monday with the passage of another strong upper level disturbance.
The potential for severe thunderstorms will exist Monday afternoon and evening over portions of North Louisiana and Southern Arkansas, with damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, and locally heavy rainfall possible.
Presently, the National Weather Center forecasters are expecting cooler and drier conditions to return Monday night through Wednesday with the passage of another cold front.
