Skip Bertman Victim of Home Invasion

Former LSU baseball head coach and Athletic Director Skip Bertman was the victim of a home invasion Saturday in Baton Rouge.

Bertman scuffled with the intruder but he was still able to get away with some of his championship rings and some cash.

Bertman called the Baton Rouge police about 4:40am.  Police believe the burglar knew it was Bertman’s home.

That same home nearly burned down about ten years ago when an electrical fire started in his garage.  About 35% of the home was destroyed and nearly all of the memorabilia Bertman had kept from his coaching days was lost.  Bertman rebuilt the house and moved back in.
